While the domain of internal combustion engine (ICE) vehicles was predominantly occupied by brands with decades of experience, the EV segment offers a lot more growth potential to newcomers and Kia is one such brand that is making the most of it.

With extensive plans of bolstering its EV segment in the future, the Kia EV6 is the present model of the company that offers a multitude of features.
With major rivals including the Ford Mustang Mach-E, Tesla Model Y and VW ID.4, Kia’s SUV segment needed the thrust that has now been provided by the addition of EV6 to the Korean automaker’s lineup.
Many industry experts are praising the vehicle for what it offers. So, here is all you need to know about the Kia EV6 Long Range RWD model.
Exterior Design
The first thing about this EV that sets it apart from the crowd is its unique design and exterior format which is sporty and thus tells even from a distance that the vehicle means serious business.
Some of the most talked-about features of this design include the rear cluster lights and the door handles that flush into the vehicle’s body to reduce drag.

Interior Design & Space
When on the inside, the material is of premium quality and the flat rear floor provides ample space for even three adults.

The elevated sitting position might not be something unexpected from a vehicle of this format but when you sit inside, it has a feel of its own.
One aspect that I believe could have been improved over the current version is the infotainment system, which while not laggy, still falls short of the ones on the vehicles mentioned above, which is a bummer because the EV6 is otherwise quite appealing.
Driving Experience
As in the case of all EVs, the instantaneous torque means that you get a thrust when you push the pedal. The overall handling is impressive and by turning off the stability controls, the fun level is further enhanced.

The rear-wheel-drive variant weighs around 2 tons and the all-wheel-drive one is even heavier than this so the vehicle isn’t as agile as a racing car but it’s definitely a step up from the normal boring crossovers that we are normally accustomed to.
Performance Figures
The long-range version of the Kia EV6 is available with the 168 kW motor that completes the 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) sprint in 7.3 seconds.
This might not sound too impressive but is not slow by any standards and if you want, the EV6 variant with the 0 to 100 km/h in 3.5 seconds is also available.

The vehicle’s top speed is 185 km/h which is fast enough for most highways around the world and thus I think it does pretty well in this category as well.
Range
The company claims that the Kia EV6 has a range of 528 km on a full charge however real-life figures will be relatively lower.
Fast Charging
Another impressive feature of the vehicle is its industry-leading fast charging mechanism.
Here the company claims that the EV6 gets a range of 100 kilometers with just 5 minutes of charging whereas charging it for 18 minutes boosts the vehicle’s range by 338 kilometers.
Final Verdict
The Kia EV6 Long Range RWD is a great vehicle, not only on paper but out in the wild as well. This proves that the company is headed in the right direction with the future holding a lot of potential for this Korean brand.
