The Ford F-150 is America’s favorite truck and has been so for a long time now. However, the company was yet to deliver its electric truck dubbed F-150 Lightning to customers.

The total number of deliveries made to this day has not been revealed by the US-based automaker.
However, we have reports that some of them have been delivered to fleet customers whereas a few deliveries have also been made to retail customers.
The First Couple To Received Their Ford F-150 Lightning
A couple from Michigan, shown below, was the first to get their hands on the Ford F-150 Lightning.
Which Truck Had They Booked & When?
They had reserved the Platinum Trim of the truck and the reservation was made on 20th May 2021. The company transferred this reservation to the manufacturing process on 7th January 2022.
Now after almost a year since the reservation was made, the truck is finally in the possession of the couple who is excited to have it. It was delivered on 26th May 2022.
How Many Reservations Have Been Received By Ford?
The Ford F-150 Lightning gained quick fame right after its launch. The company has already received more than 200,000 reservations for the truck but Ford expects that the demand will only rise in the future.
This is why it decided to ramp up the production facilities and now it has the capacity of delivering more than 150,000 trucks each year.
In 2022, however, the company will only be able to produce just 40,000 units of the F-150 Lightning.
Why Is Ford Under Pressure?
Ford knows that it has severe competition from other electric trucks such as Chevrolet Silverado Electric, Rivian R1T and Hummer EV.
This is why it is feeling the pressure to deliver as many vehicles as possible by the end of the current year.
