Similar to all other German automakers, Mercedes is highly invested in producing vehicles to populate its all-electric lineup.

The company is doing so to meet the EU demands of going all-electric by 2035.
However, it is important to remember that Mercedes has already made the audacious claim of going all-electric by 2030, which may be a bigger step for a company than any of the new entrants because Mercedes has a century-old heritage that must be completely revised for the transition to the electric platform.
Thus the recently launched Mercedes AMG EQE is the second vehicle to be included in the AMG lineup with an all-electric drivetrain.
Based On The EVA2 Platform
The newly launched vehicle is based on the Mercedes EVA2 platform which has been specifically designed by the company for medium and large-sized vehicles.
Different Than The AMG EQS
As the name kind of gives it away, the EQE is based on the Mercedes E Class platform and is thus shorter than the previously launched Mercedes EQS AMG version.
The key difference, when compared to the EQS luxury vehicle, is that the EQE is a sedan unlike the hatchback profile of the EQS.
Battery
The newly launched vehicle will sport a 90.6 kWh battery pack which seems big enough to power the vehicle for an ample range. This battery will be a 328-volt Li-ion setup.
Range
Range is still the most intimidating figure of electric vehicles and despite their exceptional performance, many people are reluctant to make the switch to the electric platform because of the limited range that these cars have.

However, the Mercedes AMG EQE is different because its range varies from 444 to 518 kilometers which means that you can travel a lot of distance without the need for an electric charger.
Performance Figures
The newly launched Mercedes AMG EQE will deliver excellent performance as according to recent claims of the German automaker, it will have the ability to reach 0 to 97 kph (0 to 60 mph) in around 3.2 seconds, thanks to the instant torque delivered by the electric motor.

Besides this, the 240 kph top speed will ensure that the Mercedes EQE sedan is not just fast in getting off the line but also keeps in lead until the end of the race.
Dynamic Plus Package Matters
The above-mentioned figures hold true for the vehicles having the Dynamic Plus package whereas the ones without this package will have an acceleration time of 3.4 seconds and a top speed of around 220 kph.
Power & Torque
This exceptional performance is made possible by the dual electric motors that combined produce a mind-boggling torque figure of 1001 Nm along with 505 kW power.
Without the Dynamic Plus package, the car produces 460 kW power which is still pretty good.
4-Matic Technology & AMG Specific Brakes
The 4-Matic all-wheel-drive technology that Mercedes is well known for is also available in the Mercedes AMG EQE and it will have an AMG specific braking setup as well.
Pricing
Although the company is still silent about the pricing, it will be lesser than the €88,000 mark at which the AMG EQS is presently being offered.
When Will It Be Available?
The Mercedes AMG EQE will be available in the United States in the early part of 2023 but whether or not it be concurrently launched in Europe remains an important question.
Final Verdict
While the performance of the latest Mercedes EQE sedan seems pretty imposing on paper, how it will do when put to the test is still unanswered.
