In this article we delve into the Rivian R1T model detailed review.
As the world of electric vehicles is shaping up, newer EV manufacturers are emerging and making their way to success.
One such example is Rivian which is a US-based company that has not only been able to set itself up as an EV brand but has also made a dashing impact on the stock exchange by going public.

The Rivian R1T is the company’s EV pickup truck that has already been delivered to several customers. Overall response is satisfactory rather those who have taken the vehicle off-road tell that the R1T is a highly capable off-roading machine.
Exterior Design Of The Rivian R1T
The first thing you see on a vehicle is its exterior design and for making a lasting impression, it better be good.
The Rivian R1T has received a mixed response in this segment as the front lights of the truck have not been cherished.
Personally, I am not a big fan and think the company could have gone for a more brawny appearance that went well with the character of the R1T.
The rear lights are fine but don’t have anything extraordinary or worth mentioning.
What Makes It Special?
The first thing you would notice when you push the pedal is how quick the truck’s acceleration is. This is because of the instant torque delivery from the motors of the R1T.

The truck has a total length of 5.47 meters which makes it slightly larger than a Ford Ranger but smaller than the full-size F-150.
The R1T is also special because it is the first-ever electric truck to hit the roads. While it is likely to get strong competition from Hummer EV and Ford F-150 Lightning, the truck got the first-mover advantage by playing on the open field.
Battery Size & Range
The Rivian R1T has a battery size of 128.9 kWh which is immense. However, this is good news for owners as it means that they won’t be stuck out due to low battery.
The Rivian R1T has a range of 505 km which is quite impressive considering that the truck is huge in size and carries tremendous amounts of power.
Performance
You get a truck mainly for off-roading but what if you get super-car level performance alongside?
The R1T has motors on all four wheels due to which it has a power of 626 kW. Thus, the truck has a 0 to 97 kph acceleration time of 3.3 seconds.
This means that the lightning-fast acceleration will give you a jaw-dropping experience. It is thus the quickest pickup truck ever. However, the upcoming Hummer EV and Ford F-150 lightning are expected to have similar acceleration figures.
The truck has a payload capacity of around 800 kg and can tow up to 4,990 kilos due to its powerful motors.
Interior
The interior of the vehicle is as impressive as the exterior. The use of premium quality materials such as wood, leather and two large displays makes the interior of the R1T highly desirable.

Pricing
The Rivian R1T starts at €74,576 (£63,660) which is a lot of money for a truck. However, the impressive performance sort of justifies it.
Final Verdict
The 2024 dual-motor variant is likely to be launched with an even better range of over 640 km.
This will further augment the position of Rivian in the world of electric pick-up trucks.
